The Power of Bags
A recent national study gauged the effectiveness of promotional products versus other advertising media. The study surveyed end buyers to identify how promotional products motivate, influence and impact recipients. These findings were used to formulate the cost per impression of a promotional product over more traditional media, like prime time television, national magazines and newspapers. The study confirmed that printed bags are a highly effective advertising vehicle, offering some clear benefits:
Very Impressionable: Bags made the highest number of marketing “impressions” over their lifespan, nearly 6,000 total impressions, more than any other promotional product. In addition, this was nearly twice the number for writing instruments, or caps, and nearly 3 times the number of impressions made by shirts.
Staying Power: Even more remarkable, bags were kept a long time, more than 7 months.
User-Friendly: 83% said their reason for keeping a bag was because it was considered “useful”. The second most cited reason was its “attractiveness”.
Total Recall: 85% of recipients said they could clearly identify the advertiser who gave them the bag and said they now had a “more favorable” impression of the advertiser. Best of all, almost half reported a greater likelihood of doing business with the advertiser after receiving the bag!
Highly Cost Effective: the over “cost per impression” for promotional products averages on 6/10th of a cent. That’s less expensive than traditional media such as prime time TV (2.4 cents), national magazines (1.8 cents) or newspapers (9/10th of a cent).
All of this points to something we’ve known all along: that bags are functional, mobile and valuable – making them extremely effective marketing and branding vehicles. Companies who use bags to promote their business get a better return on their advertising investment and great exposure and impact for their message.

What is a Challenge Coin?
It started out that challenge coins were primarily used by US soldiers. Commanding officers gave the coins to their soldiers as a way of showing recognition for a job well done. The soldiers were advised to keep their coin on them at all times – especially in the bar or tavern. If you were challenged by another soldier to present your coin while in the bar and you happened to not have your coin with you, you would be forced to buy that soldier a drink. Hence the challenge coin was born. Today, the term “challenge coin” is used very loosely and often just refers to a double sided coin. Companies, government agencies, fire departments, police departments and schools will order what they consider challenge coins. And of course, the military orders the majority of the challenge coins still.

The definition of value is the regard that something is held to deserve; the importance, worth, or usefulness of something.
Remember when you hand out this pen it is representing your business. You want a pen you would use. You know “THE” pen that everyone in the office snags when you’re not looking. Because if it’s a pen you use it’s likely it’s a pen that the prospective clients you are giving the pen to will use it also. Which means staying top of mind of your clients and prospective clients.
Tip: Make sure to leave at least one pen every time you sign a receipt. This will give you more views of your company by everyone who uses the pen after you leave it.
